Moriori

Kāhore a Rōpata i mōhio ki te reo Moriori, nō tōna hokinga ki Niu Tīreni ka kīia e ia te ingoa o te moutere ko Wharekauri, ā, koia nei te ingoa ki a tatou nei, ki te Māori o taua moutere ko Wharekauri, ko tōna ingoa ia ko Rēkohu (TP 3/1906:7). / Robert did not know the Moriori language so when he returned to New Zealand he said the name of the island was Wharekauri, and that is the name to us and the Māori of the Chatham Island, but its actual name is Rēkohu.
