māha

1. (verb) to be gratified, satisfied, contented - by the attainment of a desired object.

Ka māha hoki pea, ka kitea te wāhi i kimihia mai ai e rātou (NM 1928:102). / And perhaps they were gratified that they had found the place that they sought.

2. (verb) to be depressed, resigned.

Nō te korenga i kitea tana tamaiti ka māha te ngākau (W 1971:162). / When his child couldn't be found he was depressed.

maha

1. (stative) be many, numerous, abundant - usually takes the prefix toko- when referring to  people.

He maha aku pikinga pēnei ki runga i te rore nei, kāore he raruraru (HP 1991:22). / I had climbed onto this lorry in this way many times without any problem.
